영국 학생 비자(Student Route) 신청 절차 1. CAS 번호 발급 받기

CAS에 대해 알아봅시다.
In this posting, I will talk about CAS, Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies.

CAS는 confirmation of acceptance for studies의 약자입니다.
영국 대학교 입학 예정자에게 영국 대학교 측에서 보내주는 입학 확인서라고 생각하시면 됩니다.
입학확인서 고유 번호, CAS number 는 영국 비자 신청에 꼭 필요합니다.
CAS is abbreviation for Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies.
It is literally an offering certification for students who is going to study in universities in the UK.
CAS number is essential elements if you want to apply for a visa.

저는 2021년 9월 20일 학기 시작 예정입니다.
학기 시작 3개월 전인 2021년 5월 28일에 CAS 번호 발급을 위해 몇 가지 확인을 해달라는 메일을 받았습니다.
(영국 시간으로는 2021년 5월 27일에 메일을 보낸 것 같습니다.)
My course will start 20 September, 2021.
I was requested for checkin information from university on 28 May, 2021.
(I think immigration team sent me an e-mail on 27 May, 2021 in England time.)

학교에서 보내준 메일 링크에 어떻게 하면 되는지 친절하게 적혀있었습니다.
The e-mail contains all information that I need.

제가 확인할 것은 course(전공), course start date(학기 시작 일), passport number(여권번호) 정도인 것 같습니다.
모든 정보가 이미 적혀있기 때문에 제가 새로 입력해야 하는 정보는 없습니다.
(참고로 first year course fees, 1년 치 등록금을 여기서 확인할 수 있습니다.)
I just need to confrim my information about course, course start date, passport number, and other personal details.
All information was already written, so I didn't need to fill any blank.

단, Yes/No로 대답해야 하는 질문이 있습니다.
1. ‘Will you have spent more than 5 years studying in the UK at degree level or above by the end of the proposed course at Nottingham, shown on this CAS? If you have never studied in the UK, the answer will be no’
→ 영국에서 공부한 적이 없으면 No로 대답하면 됩니다.
2. ‘Is all of the information in your CAS correct?’
→ 적혀있는 정보가 모두 맞는지 물어보는 것입니다. 틀린 내용이 없으면 Yes로 대답하면 됩니다.
However, two question was shown on the check list.
The two questions are
1. ‘Will you have spent more than 5 years studying in the UK at degree level or above by the end of the proposed course at Nottingham, shown on this CAS? If you have never studied in the UK, the answer will be no’
2. ‘Is all of the information in your CAS correct?’

모든 정보 확인이 끝나면 submit 버튼을 눌러줍니다.
After looking through all the details, I pressed submit button.

이후에 CAS number 가 발급되고, e-mail을 통해 알려준다고 하네요.
저는 2021년 5월 28일에 CAS checking을 마쳤는데, 아직 CAS number 발급되었다는 메일은 못 받았습니다.
CAS number가 발급되면, 비자 신청할 예정인데 이에 관한 포스팅도 하겠습니다.
Immigration team will send a follow-up email when my CAS number is issued.
I finished CAS checking on 28 May, 2021, yet I haven't got an e-mail relate to my CAS number.
I will keep let you know my journey for studying abroad. :)
