영국 대학교 입학 원서 제출하기

우리나라는 진학사, 유웨이어플라이 등을 통해 대학 입학 원서를 제출하고 있습니다.
영국에도 비슷한 웹사이트가 있습니다.
UCAS라는 웹사이트입니다.
UCAS를 통해 대학, 대학원 과정을 지원할 수 있는 시스템입니다.
전형료는 비교적 저렴한 편입니다.
학교 1개를 지원할 때 대략 3만원 정도를 지불한 것으로 기억합니다.
여기에 추가로 돈을 조금 더 내면 추가로 학교 4곳을 지원할 수 있게 됩니다.
(추가 지불 금액은 만원정도로 기억하는데 확실하지는 않습니다.)
Jinhaksa, Uwayapply are well-known university application systems in Korea.
England also has a similar system, called UCAS.
You can apply to the Undergraduates, Postgraduate program through this system.
Application fees are quite reasonable.
To apply to one university, about 30 pounds ($35) should be paid.
If you want to submit your application to other universities, you should pay less than 10 pounds ($12).
(I cannot remember how much I paid for applications. Sorry.)

유학원에 상담차 전화를 했더니 100만원 이상의 커미션을 요구했었습니다.
특히 옥스포드나 캠브릿지 대학교의 경우는 추가 비용을 요구하는 곳도 있었습니다.
저는 원서 지원에 100만원 이상을 지불하는건 조금 아깝다는 생각이 들어 혼자 모든 과정을 진행했습니다.
Agencies in Korea asked me to pay about 1,000 dollars for applications.
Some agencies told me that I need to pay more if I want to apply to Oxford or Cambridge.
I really don't want to spend 1,000 dollars for application, so I did all application process by myself.

가장 먼저 해야하는 것은 UCAS라는 웹사이트에 가입하는 것입니다.

The first thing I should do was to register UCAS.

웹사이트에 접속하면 아래와 같은 화면이 보입니다.
여기서 sign in으로 마우스 커서를 올리면 Students, Advisers/Agents, Providers 3개가 보입니다.
우리는 학생으로 지원할 예정이니 Students를 클릭해줍니다.

Put your mouse to the sign in button and you can see "Students, Advisers/Agents, Providers".
People who read this posting might be students, so click the "Students" button.

그럼 아래와 같은 화면이 보입니다.
글씨가 작아서 보기 힘드시겠지만, 우리나라 시각 2021.5.24.(월)을 기준으로 2021년 모집은 마감되었습니다.
2022 Entry를 보면 "Create account" 버튼(파란색)이 보입니다.
이 버튼을 클릭해주세요.
Now, you can see this page.
It is a vague image so it is hard to read. Anyway, 2021 Entry is closed.
But it can still be possible to create account through cliking button which located in 2022 Entry.

아래와 같은 화면으로 이동하게 됩니다.
①Email ②이름(영어로) ③성(영어로) ④비밀번호 ⑤비밀번호 를 적어주고
네모 박스에 클릭을 한 뒤 Register 버튼을 누르면 가입이 완료됩니다.
If you click create account button in 2022, you can see the screen below.
Please fill the all blank with your information, such as Email, Given name, Last name, Password, Confirm password.
Tick the box and then click the "Register" button, you can complete all process to be a UCAS member.
